Schlammfliegen - Alderflies
Alderflies (lat.: Sialidae) belong to the insect order Megaloptera, as well as dobsonflies and fishflies (both in the family Corydalidae). The body of the adult insect is compact and they have 4 membranous, darkbrown wings, which are folded roof-like in resting position. They are very bad fliers, and so you can find them mostly up to 15 feet away from their home habitat (pond, small river).
